Given the change in guidance from the Government and National Youth Agency, The Scouts have move to Red readiness which allows for no meetings face to face. If this changes you will be notified.

A few weeks ago, a national survey was undertaken and Scout Groups and Explorer Scout Units were asked to respond to what was in effect a 'health check' of Scouting within the current Coronavirus crisis.

Once the national information was processed, Derbyshire was provided with the responses from our county so we could understand what the priorities were. Some of the results of this survey will be discussed at the DC meeting next week and these can be seen here.

Overall Scouting in Derbyshire remains stable, and that is primarily due to the fantastic contribution of our volunteers over the many months of this crisis. Thank you for giving up your time to help young people in Derbyshire.

There were of course some challenges identified, and we will work with the Regional Services Team to provide input into how these might be effectively progressed. Over the next few weeks, you will see the ideas being developed and this will provide an ideal opportunity for people to get involved to move our county forward.

We would like to say thank you to all our amazing Scout volunteers!

They have taken a calm and measured approach to this situation along with continuing to ensure that young people and adults stay safe.

Coronavirus - Stay Home
Supporting Young People through Covid 19

Many of our young people are anxious about Covid 19.

We have collated some resources here which you may wish to share with families. These include pictures, signs and symbols to help make them accessible for all.

More resources and support about helping young people transition back into Scouting will follow, when we know when that seems likely to be.

We prepare young people with skills for life

We help over 10900 members right across Derbyshire!
And it's not just young people who can get in on the action. Working alongside our youth members are adult volunteers, with a huge variety of roles and opportunities available. We believe young people deserve the employability, character and practical skills to succeed. We believe in bringing people together to enjoy fun, friendship and adventure in a place where they can belong.

On this site, you will find details of our local groups, activity centres, forthcoming events and latest news. If you would like more information on Scouting in Derbyshire, please use the "Contact Us" link on the menu or via the Contact form.
